ITU Maritime Faculty (YDO) Graduates Social Aid Foundation was established to provide scholarships to Istanbul Technical University Maritime Faculty students. The year of foundation is 1995. The association does not only provide scholarships to faculty students. It also provides an opportunity for graduates to pursue a master's degree. It also meets the needs of families in need of its graduates. 

ITU Maritime Faculty (YDO) Graduates Social Aid Foundation Purposes and Activities 

The association mainly tries to carry out donations and charity services. With the support of economic enterprises, it tries to generate income to create a healthy structure for the future. Among the sources of income of the association is Deniz Yildizi Cafe - Restaurant located on the pier in the Beşiktaş district of Istanbul. Thanks to this business, ITU Maritime Faculty (YDO) Graduates Social Aid Foundation earns income. Meetings are held twice a year with the members of the foundation in this cafe. Thanks to the meeting activities held in May and September, warm relations occur between its members. Training is also among the activities of the foundation. Courses are given by competent institutions, especially for amateur seafarers. Radio courses are also among the activities of the association. Thanks to these courses, both the association earns income, and the number of people sympathetic to the foundation increases.

Foundation Scholarships

ITU Maritime Faculty (YDO) Alumni Social Aid Foundation aims to help students in need. Also, the foundation provides scholarship support to academics. For this purpose, the Foundation has been carrying out studies in this direction since 1995. Donations made for the foundation are transferred to seafarers' families as social aid and scholarship. Besides, it provides scholarship support to some of the students staying in the dormitory of the students who are in the ITU Maritime Faculty for education. In addition to these, it supports their education by giving scholarships to ten academics who continue their academic studies in maritime faculties and abroad. Our foundation has provided scholarships under various titles since its establishment.
