During the Second World War, a German submarine of the U- 96 type performs its usual patrol in the Atlantic ocean. There is staff on board. There are five ships in this fleet without destroyer protection. The captain experiences short indecision. Then he orders an attack. At that moment, he sees that the destroyer they did not notice before attacking, attacked them. They plan to dive to the bottom and escape, but the destroyer does not follow.

The officer, who is in the submarine to record the events, sleeps thinking that they have no salvation. When he wakes up, he sees that everything is normal and the submarine gets rid of the destroyer. After this incident occurs, an order comes from the superiors at the headquarters to pass to La Spezia port in Italy. 

The Gibraltar Bosphorus is under control by British ships and aircraft. So for the U- 96 submarine, going through here is synonymous with suicide.
